Role: Specialist Support Coordinator

The opportunity

We are looking for a dedicated Specialist Support Coordinator to join our Rehabilitation Programmes team. They will support participants who are struggling with substance misuse, mental health concerns or additional needs that may be a barrier to gaining or sustaining employment both in the community and in custody.  


Recycling Lives Charity is a national leader in the criminal justice sector, delivering rehabilitation and residential programmes to reduce reoffending and homelessness. We work with individuals with histories of offending, substance misuse, mental illness, homelessness and long-term unemployment. We deliver structured, supportive programmes to allow participants to overcome personal problems and develop skills, confidence and resilience to move into work and stable housing. We also run a food redistribution programme, delivering surplus food and goods to communities in need, and work closely with Recycling Lives Ltd, a national recycling and waste management business, both of which complement our programmes by offering work experience opportunities to participants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee assigned individuals providing triage and assessment
  • Develop and carry out individual action plans that clearly identify how achieving each goal will enable progression
  • Work with partner employers to identify and manage risk in the roles which will be undertaken in the workplace
  • Understand all treatment and recovery options in all areas in need of support
  • Provide advice and guidance to managers within the Recycling Lives Group in relation to employees and participants who may be experiencing substance misuse and or mental health or other related issues.

The following will be essential in the right candidate:  

  • BACP Accredited Counselling/Psychology qualification
  • Substance misuse and/or addiction certification
  • Safeguarding Certification
